Why don’t Free Pixels work anymore?

Hello everyone,

my post today will cover the aspects of free pixel sites. I know there are numerous websites offering pixels at a price and even for free. They cover many different topics and categories. We have all heard stories that some people made a huge killing on this idea, when it first hit the internet.

Below are a few points I came up with. I know there are so many that I could of listed, but I wanted to list just the basics down. Please bare with me.

Paid pixels - Pros

• Can gaurentee loads of traffic and exposure
• They normally offer more pixels for these spaces than they would for free pixels, sometimes even bigger too
• The owner promotes his pixel site - pays for adsense and other methods of advertising

Paid pixels - Cons

• Some pixels cost in the range of $1 to $100 and maybe even more
• You spend some time or money in having a professional graphic or image made for your product or website link
• Your link only lasts for a short period of time

Do free pixels work?

• Most of them don’t cost you a thing
• Some of them will ask you to link back to them either with an image or by url
• Loads of free pixels available on the net
• Takes you less than five minutes to complete
• Your link lasts long

I was thinking about this as I have a pixel site, a free pixel site where your links will be shown for years and I don’t want anything from you in return. I have had this site up and running for a couple of months now, and not a lot of people have taken the offer up. The pixles are bigger than the normal sized ones, see picture below to see how many pixels you get.

So my dilema I’m facing is how to get people to take up the offer. I know my sites don’t get a lot of visitors and that could be the major point, but that would be understandable as I’m still starting out. Please could you leave some comments or suggestions, any feedback would be appreciated.
