Gmail blocks Fake Phishing Emails
-
That headline probably got your attention, but Gmail is only blocking PayPal and eBay fake phishing emails. I know how you feel, I hate to open my mailbox and see all those phishing emails. Now there is help, read below for further details.
DomainKeys is an e-mail authentication system designed to verify the DNS domain of an e-mail sender and the message integrity. The DomainKeys specification has adopted aspects of Identified Internet Mail to create an enhanced protocol called DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM).
eBay and PayPal will now ensure all their email is signed with DomainKeys and DKIM and hence, Gmail can now easily detect and reject fake emails that don’t authenticate. This is a welcome step by Google, Ebay and Paypal that will really help to protect personal and financial information and now lesser number of people will be duped and subject to fraud by these phishing scams.
Has your Gmail spam gone down, let me know.
