My New Project #001

Another day of the week and I’m already planning my next project. I will try to keep blogging, but I can’t promise anything. I can only hope that my effect won’t be in vain.

Goal - This project entails of creating a website for a business. I can not disclose the name of the business as that would give it away. My brother, Greg, is helping me in this project. We both would benefit from this. I have not yet given him the full details as I have made notes all over the place. I hope to get all the paper work in order.

Step #001 - Register domain and transfer name servers to my hosting company

I had to do this as my hosting company can not register a domain name with a ‘.co.za’ extention. This made me have to register with a South African company and then I would have to transfer the name servers. This may seem very straight forward, but I have been struggling to get it done. The user control panel being used is not very user friendly, I had to eventually call in and ask them. I spoke to Robert, a decent and helpful support member.

I hope to hear in the next 3 days that all went well and that I can continue. The registering of the domain costed me $70, that is for 2 years. The price was very high, but I had to take it. I had to make sure that no one else registered that domain name.
