Liverpool brought an end to Chelsea’s 86-match unbeaten record at home in the Premier League with a 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea hadn’t been beaten at home since goals from Patrick Vieira and Edu gave Arsenal a 2-1 victory on February 2004.
Xabi Alonso scored the only goal of the match on 10 minutes when his shot took a deflection off José Bosingwa and wrong-footed Petr C(ech.

Visitors Liverpool staged a stunning second-half comeback at Manchester City to snatch victory and preserve their unbeaten start to the Premier League season.
City, who had failed to beat Liverpool in their six previous League games in which they had also failed to score a goal, had looked set to end that dismal sequence after establishing a two-goal first-half lead.
