Go to the the Smooth Slider settings page and check that you can see a preview of the slider there. If you see it then it will be displayed. If you can't see it then it means your settings for the slider is not correct. The function should work 100%, depending on the option you selected. It looks very simple and that the reason I chosed it... but I have the same problem than Jake. The plugin is installed correctly, I think. Also the Featured Box is active in Thesis Desing. I do like the instructions in custom_funtions and in custom.css but the slider isn't in the front.
