Gift Ideas for this December

As some of you might need to go out and buy gifts for others out there, I have listed a few previous posts about ideas and it could help you out. You don’t have to go out and buy expensive gifts when home made ones mean a lot more.

light bulb idea Gift Ideas for this December

Some people would spend loads of money during this time and then suffer in January, I just don’t understand WHY?

I can understand that you want your gift to be unique and special, but many people will forget about who bought what and how expensive it was.

Previous posts about Gifts:

I find that people normally like the home made gifts more as it shows that the person put in a lot of work and love into it. I have started a new tradition that Tyron and myself go for photo’s. I will only see him later this month, but I will post the photo’s we take.

Present Box for Birthday or Christmas

This year my budget is not much, but I have a list of 13 people I need to cater for. My circle is small namely my family, friends, blogger friends. I will create a post and share the photo’s.

One could even create a calendar for the following year, there are so many small personal goodies you can create. Take a day or two and think about it, I bet you can come up with 10 gifts. Involve your family, friends, pets, stranger, etc

BTW – The only limitation is YOU. Yes, you can break free today and be on a higher level. ;)

Final Thought

I hope my gift ideas help you decide whats best for you and your budget. Let me know what you think about the ideas and how much money are you going to spend.

13 pax to be catered for, that should be a pleasure as many millionaires have no one to take of this event and I have around 10 to do so. Anyway, I would like to show my little responsibility this year :-)

That’s wonderful.

This may be off topic. How did you made the first letter of the post bigger than others?

@Senthil – thats easy as Thesis has a span class called drop_cap. When creating a post, to go html as you need to add the class. Before your first letter, add the span class drop_cap and then close it after. Maybe go to a post of mine and then browse the source code (look for drop_cap).

I believe that it depends on how many friends do you have, home made gifts is good but how if you have more than 50 friends and you would like to give a gift to all of them, that might be crazy to make 50 home made gifts ownself. haha!

Anyway, share with us your photos. :)

Cheers,
Lee

I’m pretty lucky. My wife would rather have a CARD with my writing in it than a new CAR!

Of course, I’ll still get her something nice but she’s really easy.

@Gabe – you should be happy that it’s a card and that your wife loves you so much.

I thought id visit your blog since you visited one of mine I always practice what i preach. Im glad i did you have assembled a wealth of information on your blog that I plan to take advantage of, thanks. Xmas is a dreaded time for me I enjoy the season I just dis like all the shopping, it can be taxing on a person and I always seem to wait until the last minute. Im a big giver which is a problem as well, because if you give big gifts one year its expected it seems. But I will give it my best this year I can hardly believe its already rolled around on us again so fast.

Dear Serradinho,
It is wonderful to be back on your blog. :)
I too love making handmade gifts as there is such a sincerity about crafting a gift for someone, as you are definetly putting your love into it. Latetly I have gone back to crafts I have not touched in years, (embroidery, crochet, knitting) because I wanted to express my love for them in such a way.
Recently I created a crewel embroidery for a friends 60th Birthday and she was mostly overwhelmed and happy. (You can find it here-http://www.flickr.com/photos/34014572@N04/4135346435/]
At the moment I am working on a recyled paper mashe doll for a Handmade gift exchange I am part off, and I have another crewel embroidery project in the future nearing to start. Inbetween all this I continue to paint, draw, sketch and take photographs. I find that creation is very closely related to emotional intellingence and that when we express ourselfs in such a way (create) we are immediatetly connecting with the source (ourselfs) and discovering who we really are, underneath the mundane layers. Any form of expression is a form of being-and that involvement is essential to our own growth.
A Happy December to you. :)
Enjoy your creations.

@Ana – I love it when simple things matter more. Some people want and expect expensive gifts, thats not me. I thought you were one to express yourself and create something.

Very good ideas. I did a lot of portraits and photos for holidays when I was in college. It really is a great gift idea. It isnt what you spend, but the thought behind it. I know that has became a cliche, but if it was truly well thought out and done – it will be appreciated.

@KewlGadget – some people will never understand about ‘It’s the thought that counts’ or when they understand it, it will be to late.

It’s the thought that counts, right? I truly agree with that and right now with the down economy it is great advice to keep it simple with gift giving this Christmas. I am definitely scaling back.

Being in the gift business myself I must concur, although I’d say gift cards usually rank around #1…you can’t really go wrong unless you completely pick the wrong store. lol

I’ve always found that it’s best to do Christmas shopping early, like months before. That way you don’t get stressed out and it’s a lot easier to budget. Shopping online also makes it a lot easier.

My SIL always ticked off my mother, she would have everything bought AND wrapped by the end of summer….of course this also makes you miss many sales; online and off.

Oh, for those that think, so?, she has a HUGE family. lol
