I know the fear of losing everything and starting from scratch, it’s not a nice feeling and I don’t wish that on any webmaster. With using wordpress, there are various plugins that offer you the facilty of backing up your database. Some of them even go as far as emailing you the file. I know there are cron jobs that do this as well, but this for beginners who don’t know about cron jobs.

As you can see from my picture above, I have laid out a basic outline of what happens. I didn’t want to go into to much detail, otherwise that diagram and get complex. I’m sure that as time passes by, the plugins will be able to do so much more.
