Need to know more Twitter Lingo?

I came across a repository for the meanings and manglings of words and language on Twitter. I have to say that not even I knew that some of them existed. Some are cool and others a bit obvious.

gastly minutes Need to know more Twitter Lingo?

There are loads of them and I have just selected 25 below:

  1. Attwaction: A crush (intellectual or physical) on a fellow twitterer.
  2. Attwacker: Someone that verbally assaults someone on Twitter. A.K.A., a Twamer (one who flames someone).
  3. Celebritweet: A celebrity who uses Twitter.
  4. Cybertweet: Twitter-based mutual masturbation with someone you wouldn’t speak to in real life.
  5. Deja-Tweet: The overwhelming feeling that you just saw that same tweet, from that same person, 20 minutes ago.
  6. Dweet: A tweet made, perhaps regrettably, while under the influence of alcohol.
  7. Fatal attwaction: The condition afflicting a person who is stalking other twitter users.
  8. Fly-Bye: Signing off of Twitter.
  9. GetTweet: Acquire Twitter modifications and add-ons.
  10. MRT: Modified ReTweet: Use when you have to edit the original tweet for grammer, spelling, or space for your comments.
  11. Naked twits: A twitterer’s unprotected updates.
  12. NTS: note to self.
  13. ReBird: twat who’s transformed into a Twitterbird (twitter maniac).
  14. Speedtweet: A grouping/list of favorite or most contacted users (“I’ve got you on speedtweet”).
  15. Spitter: A Twitter spammer.
  16. Switch twitter: Person maintaining multiple Twitter accounts.
  17. Twacker: A computer programming who is hacking Twitter.
  18. Twaddle: The rubbish Tweets that no one wants to read. A Twitterer with a bad walk, akin to a duck.
  19. Twafficking: Offering/dealing in illegal Tweets always via DM. Seen following new & inoccent Twitterers.
  20. Twam: Short for Tweet Spam.
  21. Twansformer: An application that modifies your tweet before you send it. Ex) spell check, shortening URLs, or conversion to text-speak so it fits under 140 characters.
  22. Twarma: The bad Karma you get when you don’t retweet or promote other Tweeps so they get followers.
  23. Twatter: Twitter chatter.
  24. Tweaser: Someone who refers to something juicy (like a racy photo) in a tweet, but then posts no corresponding link.
  25. Tweek: Twitter geek (Twitter + Geek).

If you need to know more lingo concerning Twitter, you could always go to The Dictionary for Twitter and read up on some more. They have loads and loads of words to learn and use.

Which do you use? Do you have a favorite one? Have you made your own words up?
