Sadly, I had to remove the BackType Tweetcount plugin as it was causing extremely long page load times. It was taking 15s for pages to load for new visitors. That was causing visitors to think the page was down, and they simply left. Twitter Tools has been more useful, because people are re-tweeting from within Twitter instead.

Great list! I like how you also added screenshots and descriptions to the plugins, that way I could click through to the ones that really interested me. As you I try to keep my plugins to a minimum, so I don’t think I’ll install any of them, but I would definitely go for the YouTube one if I posted more videos on YouTube. The map plugin was really cool, but I’d never use it. I also like the shadow plugin, but I don’t usually use blockquotes or images that much, so I wouldn’t get much use of that one either. But if I had the kind of blog where I’d be interested in focusing on certain text or elements in each post I’d definitely consider it.

Regarding BackType Tweetcount, doesn't it only work (ie. "count tweets") if the tweet contains the actual URL (e.g. permalink) and not a tinyurl, bit.ly, tr.im etc. URL? .-= Klaus at TechPatio´s last blog ..Nokia: N97 Will Prove Superior To iPhone 3GS =-.
