Update WordPress to 2.8.3 – Security Reasons
They have just released version 2.8.3 of WordPress. Please first make a backup of your database so that you can restore if something goes wrong.

Upgrade to WordPress 2.8.4 – Security Release
I saw a post about the new version of WordPress that is available for download. I did not see the link on my admin dashboard, but when I went to Tools >>Upgrade, it showed up there. I advise you to upgrade as it’s a security release.

Thesis

Thesis Floating Icons – Find out how I did it
So, I had a look at a site and saw some cool buttons floating on the left hand side. I thought it would be nice if I could replicate the same effect on my site. At that stage I currently had a floating Twitter badge and even posted about how how to get it on your site.

Thesis Customization – Display Scheduled Posts
I was checking out how I would manually diplay future scheduled posts on my homepage with the Thesis theme after checking out the WordPress plugin Display Scheduled Posts and came up with the following solution.

Themes

Theme details

You get access to the members downloads area which is access to all of the themes at a very reasonable price of only $19.95 per year. Yes, you pay once a year and can use as many of the themes available on as many sites as you have.

I really tried to resist as long as possible but this roundup convinced me to add those floating icons to the left. They do not only add value for the visitor but also look really good. Will do it as soon as possible tomorrow.

So, added to my site now as well. Looks a bit few though with only 3 of them. I will have to rethink it and maybe add “home” and “login” just like you. Can’t think of any more icons you really need.

@Stefan – you could add any link you desire, it is endless. I added a few for others to use and then the basics and short cuts I mainly use.

If you wanted, you could display other links that just the admin can see.
