Hi guys and girls,
well, today is another Cup Final for me. It’s the second this week. Our soccer club, Club Sport Maritimo, made it to two Cup Finals and both are against the Glen. The Glen are our league winners so this is not going to be easy.
Our first encounter on Tuesday ended in us losing the game 3-2. It was a tough game and the Glen scored their winning goal with less than 5 minutes to go. Today we are playing them again in another Cup Final. The guys are ampt that we will take this trophy home.
The guys are meeting up before the game for a prematch lunch. We do this every time we make it to the finals. Sort of a team building exercise. Lunch is just after 2pm, while the game is at 8pm.
For many of us, this is not the first or second time that we are in Cup Finals. Our team consists of many experienced players who could of made it to professional level. Sounds funny, but that is the honest truth. Many of us have been playing together since junior soccer, so we have a good understanding of each other.
Our team can play most formations with ease because of the experience we have. I’m a central defender, but I have been playing left back this season. I think we will play 4-4-2, which is not our normal formation. We normally play 3-5-2, this is due to the way the Glen play.
My prediction for the game:
I will be as honest as I can. I predict that Maritimo (thats us) will beat Glen 2-1. It’s not going to be easy, but I do think that today is our day. We were very unlucky to lose on Tuesday, but thats life and we have to live with the ups and downs.
I will let you all know what the outcome is.
