What percentage of your comments and posts (own or guest posts) have an image for your gravatar? This is a question that has been on my mind for months now. I see some sites don’t accept guest posts if the author has not got a gravatar, this is one check that I will be doing as well.
Why am I asking this? Well, I have been noticing over the last few months that there are many comments, posts and even guest posts out there where the author or commentator does not have a gravatar. This seems funny to me as most of the comments come from users who run or own a site/blog, even if it’s a free hosting one.

Definition: A gravatar, or globally recognized avatar, is quite simply an 80×80 pixel avatar image that follows you from weblog to weblog appearing beside your name when you comment on gravatar enabled sites.
My results from 18 December 2008:
Comments – 403
With – 303
Without – 101
Total Percentage – 25%
Wow, 25% of all comments on my blog don’t have a gravatar. That’s more than what I originally thought. If you own or run a site, go see what percentage have gravatars. I’m very curious to know the results.
If you don’t have a gravatar, then head over to the official Gravatar website, sign up (it’s free), and upload a gravatar. You can associate different gravatars with different emails. Once you have set it up then when you comment on blogs that have gravatars enabled (like this one) it will automatically add your photo, based on the email address you use.
What do you think?
What is your percentage?
